First off this is one of the first high end lipsticks that I purchased and it is a MAC Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in the shade Sin. I purchased it during the autumn season and when I first started my makeup journey I was really obsessed with deep reds and berry shades. These shades are still some of my favorite shades of lip products to this date. When applying this product takes a few swipes to get full opacity and it wears well throughout the day. However, with any lipstick you will want to reapply if you are drinking or eating since it can smudge easily.
I have two Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks that I have fallen in love with. First, is a purple matte lipstick in the shade name Glastonberry. This is part of her Matte Revolution collection. I first this lipstick for my birthday a few years ago and it was a lipstick that I had been wanting even before I started wearing makeup. I would see Zoella talk about it in her Autumn favorites every year and it looked amazing on her. This shade is what started my love for darker lipsticks. This lipstick even though it is a matte like the MAC lipstick applies much smoother. From my personal experience this one stays in place a lot nicer as well. While it falls under the same category as a lipstick you will need to reapply every now and then.
The next Charlotte Tilbury shade is in Penelope Pink. This shade is not a matte and it is part of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range. I picked this shade up during the Sephora VIB Sale this spring. I really only the past year started picking up more nude shades however, it has been since the spring that I have really been wearing them. This shade can go with almost any look since it is a nice soft nude with pink undertones. I have naturally pink tinted lips so picking up a shade that complimented my natural lip color was important to me. An amazing thing about this lipstick is its one of the most hydrating ones that I have tried so far. Often times I find lipsticks to be quite drying however, this shade is really hydrating. I cannot vouch for the entire range since I only own these two shades from Charlotte Tilbury.
The next lip product is by Opera and it is a lip tint in shade 102. This is a sheer product, but I love how hydrating it is. Most days when I am mainly wearing eye makeup and not going a full face, I will go for a lip tint. I love how subtle they are, yet they give a nice wash of color. I sadly do not have to much more information on this product since I picked it up during my trip in May to Japan. I do however have a few other lip products from Opera. and they are all amazing and worth trying if available.
Tarte Lip Sculptor in the shade Kitten. This has been my favorite nude over the past few months and I am so scared to keep using it since this specific shade is not currently available on their website. I really hope that they bring it back in the future. However, they still have a lot of shades that are really similar to this shade. One of my favorite things about this product is that you can wear it as a lipstick, a gloss, or a combination of the two. In the swatches above the first swatch is the lipstick on its own, then the lipstick with the gloss layered on top, then lastly the gloss on its own. Also, before how I said that the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink was one of the most hydrating lipsticks that I have used. This is the number one most hydrating lipstick product that I have used to date. I can’t recommend these enough. I have quite a few now since they often sell for in a pack during Christmas time and they all have this super hydrating formula.
Lastly, we have Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit in the shade Pumpkin. I didn’t include the lip pencil that comes with this product however it’s an amazing lip pencil on its own. I just wanted my focus to be the main lip products themselves. Pumpkin was a shade that I have been eyeing for some time now and I finally took the leap a few months ago and picked it up. I love the darker orange shade. More recently my favorite lip shades besides those darker tones have been orange shades varying from light to dark. I love the way that they look on me. Pumpkin is a matte liquid lipstick. It applies very easily, and I usually can apply it with one swipe of the brush. It drys down after a few minutes and then is good to go. Sometimes after eating I have wiped it off and reapplies. I just notice with most lip products that they can wear off during the day. However, matte liquid lipsticks will stay on longer than any lipstick I have tried. I have not tried any other Kylie products yet however I fully recommend trying out Pumpkin especially for the upcoming Autumnal season.
