Welcome to my first, first impressions post! In this post I will talk about the pros and the cons of the products from Winky Lux shown. I also did a look using these products and a few others. There is a video at the bottom of this post in which you can see a more in-depth review and tutorial.
The Winky Lux Whipped Cream Primer retails for $20.00. On their site they say that the best way to apply it is with your hands and rubbing in a circular motion. This is another product in the future I will revisit since I feel that I didn’t get a full idea of how well it works with other types of foundation. I used this alongside their White Tea Tinted Veil Moisturizer which is similar to a BB Cream. The primer overall applies nicely. I would give the product a few minutes to sit on your skin before applying your foundation of choice. This allows for the product to get somewhat tacky. My only con for this product is when you are taking the product out of its pot it gets somewhat crummy. This made it difficult for me because little bits would ball up and fall out of the pot.
The White Tea Tinted Veil Moisturizer which is described as a lightweight formula that provides a sheer hint of color and production from UV rays with a broad spectrum of SPF 30. This product does indeed add some coverage to your face however, it is very sheer coverage. If you are looking for a product in which you can have some coverage when going out in the day with the added bonus of SPF, I think it’s a good product to try out. It is also light weight as described and did not feel heavy on the skin. Personally, it is not something that I see myself reaching for again soon due to when I wear a full face of makeup, I prefer to use a fuller coverage product.
The Peeper Perfect Concealer retails for $14.00 and is described as their creamiest, stay-put concealer yet. Throughout trying these products, I have to say that this was my least favorite. It felt very heavy under my eyes and creased quite a bit. I also had an allergic reaction to it but that is not the products fault.
Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil was a very interesting product to use. It’s their only brow product and is said to be able to be used on all brows. If you want a lighter brow you gently apply the product. The darker the brow you apply the product more firmly. In my video below I show what the product looks like between different amount of pressure when applying. Uni-Brow Pencil retails for $14.00.
Last but not least for the products is their Strobing Balm in the shade Bubbles. This is a cream highlighter and is beautiful when applied. The application is similar to if you have use Cover Effects Drops. If you are not careful in application, it can start to pick up the makeup underneath. For application I found it the easiest to lightly dab on with a brush then lightly blend with the product out with your fingers.
This is the look I came up with! For this look I also used a palette by Winky Lux. The palette is the La Frutta palette and it was created in collaboration with Marzia Bisognin. For more information on this palette you can check out my blog post here: Marzia La Frutta Palette by Winky Lux
