Skincare Routine

One of my new year’s resolutions for 2019 was to get back into a skincare routine. Last year between August and November I was really good about keeping up with my skincare and doing it each night. However, once December rolled around with the holidays in full swing and visiting family. My skincare routine fell off the band wagon. But I am ready to take 2019 by the reigns and make it my year. I have so much I want to accomplish this year, and this is just one item on my checklist.

For toners I have two that I will be going back and forth with. I have the Sunday Riley Marian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner which I have had for a while now. I was getting low on the product, so I decided to try out the Laneige Fresh Calming Toner for Sensitive Skin. The Laneige toner smells amazing it has lychee extract which gives it a fresh fruity scent.

I will also be using two serums through my skincare routine this year. I will be using the Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening oil in the morning. Then for nighttime use I will be using the Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil. I have been using the U.F.O oil for a while now and I can definitely say when I use it, I see a dramatic difference. Luckily for me I have never had serious breakouts but as I get older and if I don’t keep up with my skincare, I will get spots here and there. However, when I use this each night, I notice I will not get those pesky spots.

I have three different facial moisturizers that I will be using. The Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment which leaves my under eye feeling and looking very hydrated. The Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Moisturizer which I use all over my face. This is a moisturizer that I have been using for around two years now and I usually have fairly dry skin and it helps keep my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. Lastly, for facial moisturizers I recently got gifted for Christmas the Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin Cream. This is an amazing moisturizer for very dry skin. I have been using this a lot recently on my hands and my face. After I traveled to Colorado for Christmas this year and have been back in California, I have noticed that my skin has been much dryer than usual. So this has definitely help make a big difference.

For lips I recently picked up the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask which I am very excited to try. I have heard amazing things about this product. I tend to have chapped lips, so I am helping that this mask helps hydrate my lips with the combination of using a lip treatment. (For lip treatments I usually use the FRESH Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment or the Vaseline Lip Treatments.)

Clinique take the day off balm is an amazing product for getting all the makeup off your face. To use you will want to take a generous amount and rub it into your skin to break down your foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc. Then you will want to wipe away with a towel. After, you then proceed to washing your face. One thing with this product you will want to make sure you do is gently rub away with a damp towel. I originally tried to wash the balm off with water. When I did this, I noticed it turned into a greasy mess and I would often get it into my eyes. So, I find the best solution to be using a damp towel.

Lastly, which is probably the least exiting part I generally just use basic facial cleansers from my local target. Currently I am using the Clean&Clear Morning Burst and the Night Relaxing Facial Washes.
