My New Years Resolutions

With the New Year a day a way I have been putting a lot of thought into things I want to accomplish during upcoming year. I have a lot of exciting life events happening this year and I’m overall really pumped for 2019. Throughout the next year some major things I want to do to better my life are to get into a skincare routine, get back into exercising, and cook at home more often. While some of these can seem easier said than done. I feel like this will be the year for me to finally start getting in shape and saving money.

Skincare Routine

For a while during 2018 I was going really taking care of my skin morning and night. But, once my semester in college got hectic that seemed to be one of the first things to go. I do have a routine in mind that I will go back to doing, I just need to get the motivation to do so. With a new year and a new start approaching I believe now is the perfect time to at least try and get back into my routine. My skincare routine currently is a modified version of Mikey’s from Glam&Gore.

Cooking

Cooking can seem like such a hassle when you get home at the end of the day from work or school. However, in my case I really want to get back into cooking my meals to save money. I have a few trips that I am going on with friends in 2019. Saving money to be able to afford these trips is a must. Also, with cooking at home I can control what I am eating. This is another big thing for me. Often times I overlook what ingredients are in quick shop items that I pick up. However, cooking at home will mostly eliminate this since I will mostly know what is in my food since I am the one preparing it.

Exercising

Exercise.. exercise.. exercise (・_・ヾ seems to be one of the most difficult things for many people. We all want to go into the new year with a fresh outlook and a set of plans. For years I have tried to set my main goal to going to the gym at least four times a week. However, especially this last year that did not really happen. I feel like I can no longer continue on without getting the exercise I need since in my apartment complex I live only a few minutes’ walk away from the gym. One of the most difficult things is getting to the gym once you are there it’s a lot easier to do the work. This is going to be one of my most important goals of the year. I really want to finally get a hold of my weight. I am the only one who can do something about it so I am going into 2019 with a positive mindset and with the thoughts that I will achieve my goals this year.

Something that I am going to do for myself to help achieve this goal is by setting alarms on my phone. I will be starting a New Job soon which should have a 8:00-5:00 day. I am going to try and set alarms Monday through Friday around 6:00 to go to the gym. After the gym I will plan on making my dinner at home. Setting alarms over this past year has helped me accomplish many of my goals. I often times forget to take my medication and vitamins each morning so something as simple as setting daily alarms has helped me no longer forget these important items.
